What it plays
The RTX 3050 6GB is an entry-level 1080p card. Tom's Hardware's GPU chart, updated 24 June 2026, has the regular RTX 3050 averaging 44.6 fps at 1080p ultra across its test games.
The 6GB model is a cut-down version: 10% fewer CUDA cores and a 96-bit memory bus instead of 128-bit, so expect a little less. In practice, that means esports and older games at 1080p, and newer releases at low to medium settings with DLSS on.
Buy it for competitive online games. Skip it if you want new single-player releases to look their best.
Where this build saves money
- RAM speed: the TRM sticks run at 2666 MHz. AMD rates the Ryzen 5 3600 for memory up to 3200 MT/s, and TRM's 3200 MHz pair costs Rs 600 more, which takes the total to Rs 1,00,150.
- Board: the A520M-A PRO has a PCIe 3.0 graphics slot and wired Gigabit LAN, with no Wi-Fi listed. Plan on a LAN cable or a Wi-Fi adapter.
- Power supply: 600W is double MSI's figure for this card and clears NVIDIA's 550W figure for an RTX 5060. Thermaltake doesn't list its cables, so check it has a PCIe 8-pin (6+2) plug before you upgrade.
PC build under 1.5 lakh: Ryzen 5 3600 + RTX 5060
The extra Rs 49,700 over the first build all goes on the graphics card: the RTX 5060 costs Rs 53,000 more than the RTX 3050, and a smaller SSD wins back some of that.
The RTX 5060 is where 1080p gaming gets comfortable: Tom's Hardware rates cards from the RTX 5060 up as good enough for high-refresh 1080p. It's the reason this build exists.

What it plays
In Tom's Hardware's GPU benchmarks hierarchy, the RTX 5060 averages 88.5 fps at 1080p ultra and 59.8 fps at 1440p ultra, about double the regular RTX 3050. Tom's puts it simply: "practically any current-gen graphics card from the RTX 5060 on up is good enough for high-refresh-rate gaming at 1080p".
Those runs used a Ryzen 7 9800X3D at native resolution, so expect lower numbers in CPU-heavy games with the Ryzen 5 3600. For the heaviest games, the card supports DLSS 4 with frame generation.
Its real limit is 8GB of video memory. If a new game stutters, lower texture quality first.
The trade-offs
- Storage: 512GB fills up after a few big games. Storage is the easiest part to add later, and the faster card matters more today. Our SATA vs NVMe SSD guide explains what to add.
- PCIe 3.0: the RTX 5060 uses eight PCIe lanes, so on the A520 board it runs at PCIe 3.0 x8. The 2 lakh build's B550 board runs it at PCIe 4.0 x8, the better base if you plan to keep the platform for years.
- Power supply: 750W leaves 200W over NVIDIA's 550W figure, and its four PCIe 6+2 pin connectors cover the card's 8-pin plug.
Gaming PC under 2 lakh in Nepal: Ryzen 5 5600X + RTX 5060
Same graphics card as the 1.5 lakh build, with a stronger platform around it: a newer CPU, a PCIe 4.0 board, twice the RAM and a 1TB NVMe SSD. It's the most balanced of the three, and it has the most room to grow: PCIe 4.0, two 16GB sticks and a Ryzen 5000 chip.
| QC product | Part and key spec | Our price | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| AMD Ryzen 5 5600X | CPU: 6 cores, 12 threads, up to 4.6 GHz, AM4, Wraith Stealth cooler in the box | Rs 26,500 | Call to order |
| ASUS Prime B550M-K ARGB | Motherboard: AM4, B550 chipset, PCIe 4.0 graphics slot and M.2, DDR4 (2 slots, up to 64GB), micro-ATX | Rs 16,900 | Call to order |
| PNY 16GB DDR4 3200 (x2) | RAM: 32GB in dual channel | Rs 35,000 (2 × Rs 17,500) | Call to order |
| PNY RTX 5060 OC 8GB GDDR7 | Graphics card: 8GB GDDR7, DLSS 4 | Rs 86,900 | Available |

What it plays
The same 1080p high-refresh gaming as the 1.5 lakh build, with fewer slowdowns in CPU-heavy games thanks to the newer Ryzen 5 5600X. At 1440p, Tom's Hardware's RTX 5060 average is 59.8 fps at ultra, so expect around 60 fps on average at ultra and more once you drop a setting or two or turn on DLSS.
Why 32GB of RAM and an NVMe drive
The ASUS board has only two RAM slots, so 2 × 16GB now saves you from replacing 8GB sticks later. It also leaves room for Discord, a browser and streaming software while a game runs.
The NVMe drive goes straight into the M.2 slot, which ASUS lists as PCIe 4.0 with Ryzen 5000 chips, so a faster drive can follow later.
That leaves about Rs 6,300 under 2 lakh. The Nova N6 ships with one rear fan and room for two 120mm fans at the front, so two ANT Esports Superflow 120mm RGB fans (Rs 600 each) are a sensible add-on.
Stream or edit video? The Ryzen 9 5900X (Rs 46,500, Rs 57,000) has 12 cores and fits the same board, but it has no cooler in the box and AMD recommends liquid cooling, which pushes the build past 2 lakh.
How we checked every part fits
We checked each pairing against the makers' own spec pages, not just the product names. These are the checks that matter on any build:
| Check | Under Rs 1 lakh | Under Rs 1.5 lakh | Under Rs 2 lakh |
|---|---|---|---|
| CPU socket and board socket | AM4 and AM4 | AM4 and AM4 | AM4 and AM4 |
| RAM the board takes | DDR4 | DDR4 | DDR4 |
| Graphics slot | PCIe 3.0 x16 | PCIe 3.0 x16 | PCIe 4.0 x16 |
| Power supply vs card maker's figure | 600W vs 300W (MSI) | 750W vs 550W (NVIDIA) | 750W vs 550W (NVIDIA) |
| Case fit | ATX and micro-ATX boards, cards up to 360mm | Same case | Same case |
| CPU cooler | Wraith Stealth, in the box | Wraith Stealth, in the box | Wraith Stealth, in the box |
- No built-in graphics: AMD lists both Ryzen chips as "Discrete Graphics Card Required". The board's HDMI port won't give a picture, so plug the monitor into the graphics card.
- Box or tray: the Wraith Stealth comes with the boxed chips. If a CPU arrives without its box, add a cooler.
- Board support: MSI lists Ryzen 3000 and 5000 support for the A520M-A PRO, and ASUS lists the same for the B550M-K ARGB.
- No power cable for the RTX 3050 6GB: NVIDIA says all partner models of this 70W card can be powered by the PCIe slot alone.

Why AMD and not Intel at these budgets?
Price. The closest Intel pairing we sell, the Core i5-10400 on an MSI H510M-A PRO, costs Rs 34,900 for the CPU and board, against Rs 26,250 for the Ryzen 5 3600 and A520. Both are six-core, 12-thread, 65W chips on DDR4.
The i5-10400 has Intel UHD Graphics 630 built in, handy for troubleshooting without a card. But Intel lists its memory at DDR4-2666 and the H510 board runs PCIe 3.0 with 10th-gen chips, so we'd put that Rs 8,650 toward the graphics card.
Our AMD vs Intel CPU guide covers both brands in more depth.
What should you upgrade first?
- Under 1 lakh build: the graphics card. Going from the RTX 3050 6GB to the PNY RTX 5060 (Rs 86,900) roughly doubles frame rates on Tom's Hardware's numbers, and the 600W power supply meets NVIDIA's 550W figure, but check it has a PCIe 8-pin (6+2) plug for the new card.
- Under 1.5 lakh build: storage. Add the Transcend 1TB NVMe (Rs 12,900). The A520 board's M.2 slot takes NVMe drives.
- Under 2 lakh build: the graphics card, when you want 1440p. The PNY RTX 5070 Ti 16GB (Rs 2,20,000,
Rs 3,05,000) averages 116.8 fps at 1440p ultra in Tom's Hardware's chart.
On that last one, NVIDIA lists 750W and two 8-pin cables for the reference RTX 5070 Ti. The Thermaltake meets both with no spare wattage, so check the exact card's needs first.
