Netflix Price in Nepal 2026: Plans in Rupees, Spotify and YouTube Premium, and How to Pay
Short answer: The Netflix price in Nepal runs from US$2.99 (about Rs 455) a month for Mobile to US$9.99 (about Rs 1,521) for Premium. Spotify Premium Individual costs US$3.29 (about Rs 501). YouTube Premium is officially available, at US$5.29 through Apple's App Store. All three are priced in US dollars for Nepal, so you need a dollar card or an internationally enabled card.

Are Netflix, Spotify and YouTube Premium available in Nepal?
Yes, all three are sold officially. Netflix runs a Nepal site at netflix.com/np, Spotify has a Nepal Premium page with its own prices, and Nepal is on YouTube's list of countries where Premium, Music Premium and Premium Lite are available.
The catch is the currency. Netflix and Spotify charge Nepali accounts in US dollars, not rupees, and Apple's Nepal App Store prices YouTube Premium in dollars too, so the bill goes on a card that can pay abroad.
The rupee figures in this guide are our conversions at Nepal Rastra Bank's selling rate of Rs 152.23 per US dollar for 2 November 2026. What you actually pay depends on your bank's rate on the day, and Netflix says taxes may be added depending on where you live.
Netflix price in Nepal: all four plans in rupees
The Netflix subscription price in Nepal depends on which of four plans you pick, all billed monthly on the date you signed up. There's no cheaper plan with ads here, unlike in the US. These are the prices on Netflix's plans and pricing page for Nepal:
| Plan | Price in Nepal | About in rupees | Video quality | Screens at once |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mobile | US$2.99 a month | Rs 455 | 480p (SD) | 1 phone or tablet |
| Basic | US$3.99 a month | Rs 607 | 720p (HD) | 1 |
| Standard | US$7.99 a month | Rs 1,216 | 1080p (Full HD) | 2 |
| Premium | US$9.99 a month | Rs 1,521 | 4K (Ultra HD) + HDR | 4 |
Prices checked on 3 November 2026. Rupees at NRB's selling rate of Rs 152.23 per US$ (2 November 2026), rounded.
Older guides online may quote higher figures: Nepali Telecom reported in June 2026 that Netflix had cut its Nepal prices. Go by the table above, which matches Netflix's own pages today.
Which Netflix plan should you buy?
- Mobile (US$2.99): only if you watch alone on a phone or tablet. It can't cast or mirror to a TV, so it's no good for a living-room screen.
- Basic (US$3.99): the cheapest way onto a TV, in 720p, one screen at a time. Fine for a small bedroom TV.
- Standard (US$7.99): our pick for a family TV. Full HD on two screens at once, so two people can watch different things.
- Premium (US$9.99): worth it only with a 4K TV, a fast unlimited connection and a family that needs four screens. It also adds spatial audio and downloads on six devices.
Our advice: buy Standard if you have a Full HD or bigger TV. Skip Premium unless your TV and internet can actually carry 4K, because the picture you pay for is limited by both.
Spotify Premium price in Nepal
Spotify also bills Nepal in US dollars. New users get the first month free on the Individual and Student plans, as long as they haven't tried Premium before, but you still have to enter a payment method to start the trial. Prices from Spotify's Nepal Premium page:
| Plan | Price in Nepal | About in rupees | Accounts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Individual | US$3.29 a month (first month US$0 if new to Premium) | Rs 501 | 1 |
| Student | US$1.69 a month (first month US$0 if new to Premium) | Rs 257 | 1 verified student |
| Duo | US$4.49 a month | Rs 684 | 2 |
| Family | US$5.79 a month | Rs 881 | Up to 6, with parental controls |
Prices checked on 3 November 2026. Rupees at NRB's selling rate of Rs 152.23 per US$ (2 November 2026), rounded.
Every Premium plan removes ads and lets you download music for offline listening, play songs in any order and stream in higher audio quality. If you cancel, Premium runs until your next billing date and you drop back to the free plan with ads (cancel during the free month, though, and Premium ends straight away).
Family is the best value if you can fill it: six accounts for US$5.79 works out under US$1 each. Student is the cheapest single plan, but only for students at an eligible higher-education institution.

YouTube Premium in Nepal: price and plans
YouTube Premium is officially sold in Nepal. YouTube doesn't publish a Nepal price list we could open, but Apple's App Store in Nepal shows these in-app prices for the YouTube and YouTube Music apps:
| Plan (App Store, Nepal) | Price in Nepal | About in rupees |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube Premium | US$5.29 | Rs 805 |
| YouTube Premium Two-person | US$7.99 | Rs 1,216 |
| YouTube Premium Family | US$11.99 | Rs 1,825 |
| Premium Lite | US$3.19 | Rs 486 |
| YouTube Music | US$4.29 | Rs 653 |
| YouTube Music Two-person | US$5.99 | Rs 912 |
| YouTube Music Family | US$7.49 | Rs 1,140 |
Prices checked on 3 November 2026. Apple's listing doesn't state the billing period; YouTube shows it before you confirm. Rupees at NRB's selling rate of Rs 152.23 per US$ (2 November 2026), rounded.
Treat these as the iPhone price, not necessarily the lowest. In the US, Apple's App Store lists YouTube Premium at US$20.99, and SlashGear reports that YouTube charges more inside the App Store than on its website. Before subscribing on an iPhone, sign in at youtube.com/premium in a browser and compare the price YouTube shows you.
One rule to know: YouTube says a Premium membership should be used mainly in the country where you signed up, and it may act on, or cancel, memberships used abroad for more than 30 days.
How to pay for Netflix in Nepal
You need a card that can make international, recurring online payments. That also goes for YouTube, because Google Play and Apple take only cards in Nepal; Spotify shows its Nepal payment options at checkout rather than on its help page.
Netflix accepts Visa, Mastercard and American Express credit, debit and prepaid cards enabled for recurring e-commerce payments, and you may need to switch on international transactions with your bank. Our guide to international payments from Nepal covers the common problems.
Prepaid dollar cards and the US$500 yearly limit
The simplest route is a prepaid dollar card from a Nepali bank. The cap is US$500 a year. Global IME Bank says that limit comes from NRB regulations, and the MBL Smart Dollar Card page (updated 29 September 2026) lists the same "Maximum USD 500 (per year)". Both banks name Netflix and YouTube Premium among the card's uses.
That's plenty for streaming. Netflix Standard, Spotify Individual and YouTube Premium at the App Store price come to about US$199 a year, roughly 40% of the limit. Everything else on the card counts too, so ChatGPT or ad spending eats into the same US$500 (see our guide to paying for ChatGPT in Nepal).
To apply, MBL asks for an active MBL account, an application form and your PAN card, and its card is valid for five years. Global IME's guide lists PAN and citizenship. Fees vary: MBL lists no annual fee, with issuance charged as per its tariff, and Global IME mentions a Rs 300 renewal fee (as of August 2025).

Paying through the App Store or Google Play
On an iPhone, a YouTube subscription bought inside the app is billed to your Apple account at the App Store prices above. On Android, Google Play's payment page doesn't list Nepal by name, and for unlisted countries it accepts only Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover cards. So app-store billing still comes back to a card.
Can you pay with eSewa, Khalti or a telecom bundle?
Not officially, as of 3 November 2026. None of the official Netflix, Spotify, Google Play or Apple pages we checked mentions eSewa, Khalti or Nepali telecom billing as a way to pay.
A Netflix bundle may come later. On 1 May 2026, Nepali Telecom reported that Nepal Telecom was in talks with Netflix to offer it as a value-added service, possibly bundled with NT data or fibre plans. No deal had been confirmed, and we found no official launch since.
If someone offers a shared or "family invitation" account for a fraction of the price, remember it isn't sold by the service and you don't control the login. Paying the official price on your own card is the safer route.
How much data does Netflix use?
These are Netflix's own figures for streaming in a browser, per device:
| Quality setting | Data per hour |
|---|---|
| Low | Up to 0.3GB |
| Medium | Up to 0.7GB |
| High, SD | Up to 1GB |
| High, HD | Up to 3GB |
| High, 4K | Up to 7GB |
In the phone app, the Automatic setting gives about 4 hours per GB and Save Data about 6 hours per GB. A two-hour film in HD can use up to 6GB, so watch on home Wi-Fi where you can.
On mobile data, keep the app on Automatic or Save Data and compare packs in our NTC data pack guide. For Premium's 4K, you really want an unlimited home connection; our internet price comparison lists the ISPs.
What do you need to watch Netflix on a TV?
Two things: a Basic plan or higher, since Mobile won't cast, and a device that runs the Netflix app. Netflix says many TVs, streaming devices and media players come with the app included, but it may no longer work on some TVs and streaming devices made before 2015.
Don't assume every Android TV box runs Netflix. Before you buy, search the box's or TV's name in Netflix's Help Center, or ask the maker. Our Android TV box guide and TV price in Nepal guide compare the options, and you can browse smart TVs in our shop.
If streams keep buffering at home, check your connection before you change plans: a stronger WiFi router near the TV or a faster internet plan is where to look first.
Quick verdict: Our pick for a family home in Nepal is Netflix Standard (US$7.99, about Rs 1,216) plus Spotify Individual or Family, which covers films and music for about US$11 to US$14 a month, well inside a dollar card's US$500 yearly limit. Take Basic for one small TV, avoid Mobile for TV viewing, and compare YouTube's web price before paying Apple's.
