200 Mbps internet price in Nepal, by ISP
Since the October price changes, 200 Mbps is the cheapest plan most private ISPs sell to new customers. The yearly price is almost the same everywhere; what differs is how tax is shown and what you pay to get connected.
| ISP | 200 Mbps, 12 months | How the price is shown |
|---|---|---|
| WorldLink (6G Premium) | Rs 14,894 + VAT | TSC included, VAT extra (WorldLink website) |
| Vianet (WiFi 6) | Rs 16,830 | VAT included (Vianet website) |
| Subisu | Rs 16,830 | Tax not stated (Nepali Telecom, 18 Oct 2026) |
| DishHome Fibernet | Rs 14,894 | Tax not stated (Nepali Telecom, 18 Oct 2026) |
| Classic Tech | Rs 14,894 + VAT | Ratopati, 28 Oct 2026 |
| CG Net | Rs 17,330 renewal, Rs 20,590 new connection | VAT and TSC included; new-connection price includes installation and deposit (CG Net website) |
| Nepal Telecom (NT FTTH) | Rs 16,499 | Includes a phone line; tax not stated (ShareSansar, 16 Oct 2026) |
Rs 14,894 plus 13% VAT is Rs 16,830, which is why the WorldLink, Vianet and Subisu prices line up.
Why internet prices went up in October 2026
Two things happened at once in early October: ISPs dropped their cheapest plans, and a court ruling raised the service charge on every bill. Then the regulator pushed back. Here is how the month went.
Plans under 50 Mbps stop
The Internet Service Providers’ Association of Nepal (ISPAN) decided that its members would stop selling new plans and renewals below 50 Mbps. Existing customers keep their plan until it runs out.
TSC on the whole bill
According to Ratopati, the Supreme Court dismissed the ISPs’ petition, so the telecommunication service charge (TSC) now applies to the whole bill instead of part of it. The ISPs said they would pass that cost on.
NTA steps in
The Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) said ISPs must get tariffs approved before using them.
14 ISPs fined
NTA fined 14 ISPs, including WorldLink, Vianet, Classic Tech, Dish Media, Subisu, CG and WiFi Nepal, Rs 50,000 each for unapproved packages. It ordered those packages withdrawn and said affected customers could ask for compensation. Some prices in this post may change because of that.
Nepal Telecom’s new Wi-Fi 6 plans
Nepal Telecom launched new yearly Wi-Fi 6 fibre packages, starting at Rs 4,999 for 30 Mbps.
Bills go up
The Kathmandu Post reported that one customer’s 50 Mbps monthly bill went from Rs 1,017 to Rs 1,350, and that some users are moving to Nepal Telecom.
WorldLink price list
WorldLink is the biggest fixed broadband provider, with about 31% of subscriptions in NTA’s figures (reported by the Kathmandu Post on 6 October 2026). These are its 6G plan prices, with TSC included and VAT extra:
| Plan | 3 months | 6 months | 12 months |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6G Premium 200 Mbps | Rs 4,248 | Rs 8,323 | Rs 14,894 |
| 6G Pro 400 Mbps | Rs 4,646 | – | Rs 16,248 |
| 6G Ultra 500 Mbps | – | – | Rs 17,168 |
| 6G Max 600 Mbps | – | – | Rs 20,000 |
With NetTV, 12 months: 200 Mbps with one TV Rs 17,018; 400 Mbps Rs 18,372 (one TV) or Rs 20,496 (two TVs); 500 Mbps Rs 19,292 or Rs 21,416; 600 Mbps Rs 22,124 or Rs 24,248.
One-time charges for a new connection (WorldLink plan pages, updated 9 October 2026): setup Rs 3,000, ONU rental Rs 1,000, refundable ONU deposit Rs 1,000 and drop cable Rs 1,000; installation is free. WorldLink lists a Wi-Fi 6 router with its plans, and a Nokia Beacon mesh unit for a Rs 1,500 deposit on yearly plans. The online price is for new customers buying on WorldLink’s website.
Vianet price list
Vianet’s plans page lists these WiFi 6 prices, including VAT:
| Plan | 3 months | 12 months |
|---|---|---|
| WiFi 6 200 Mbps | Rs 4,800 | Rs 16,830 |
| WiFi 6 400 Mbps | Rs 5,250 | Rs 18,360 |
| WiFi 6 600 Mbps | Rs 6,500 | Rs 22,950 |
For comparison, in March 2026 Vianet’s 250 Mbps plan was Rs 13,800 a year including VAT. Earlier reports listed a Rs 565 activation charge, a Rs 1,000 ONU deposit and a Wi-Fi 6 mesh router for Rs 3,500 (Nepali Telecom, March 2026); ask Vianet for current charges. ViaTV is Rs 250 a month including VAT.
Nepal Telecom (NT FTTH) price list
Nepal Telecom launched new yearly Wi-Fi 6 fibre packages on 16 October 2026: 30 Mbps for Rs 4,999, 100 Mbps for Rs 11,499, 150 Mbps for Rs 12,999 and 200 Mbps for Rs 16,499. The 100 and 150 Mbps plans include a phone line, the Rs 500 connection fee is waived, and yearly customers get free mobile data each day (ShareSansar). The reports don’t say whether tax is included.
Nepali Telecom’s fuller list (updated 15 October 2026) for internet with a phone line:
| Speed | 1 month | 3 months | 12 months |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50 Mbps | Rs 815 | Rs 2,350 | Rs 8,499 |
| 75 Mbps | Rs 1,010 | Rs 2,900 | Rs 10,499 |
| 100 Mbps | Rs 1,150 | Rs 3,200 | Rs 11,499 |
| 150 Mbps | Rs 1,250 | Rs 3,600 | Rs 12,999 |
| 200 Mbps | Rs 1,600 | Rs 4,550 | Rs 16,499 |
With NTTV for 12 months, 100 Mbps is Rs 13,499 (Basic TV) or Rs 14,999 (Premium TV), and 200 Mbps is Rs 18,499 or Rs 19,999. The router and the NTTV set-top box are free with a yearly plan, and the first 100 metres of fibre are free.
Two things to know: NT plans have daily data limits (100 Mbps slows to 15 Mbps after 50 GB a day, and 200 Mbps to 50 Mbps after 100 GB), and an August 2026 list showed these plans about Rs 3,000 higher, so confirm the price at the NT office. Ratopati reported a festival offer of 13 months for the price of 12 on new yearly 100 to 200 Mbps plans, with free installation from 12 October to 15 November.
Classic Tech, DishHome, Subisu and CG Net
Yearly prices for the other big ISPs. Where the source doesn’t say whether tax is included, the table says so.
| ISP and speed | 12 months | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Classic Tech 200 Mbps | Rs 14,894 + VAT | Ratopati, 28 Oct 2026. Nepali Telecom lists 100 Mbps at Rs 1,053 a month and 500 Mbps at Rs 1,431 a month on a yearly plan |
| DishHome Fibernet 200 Mbps | Rs 14,894 | Tax not stated |
| DishHome Fibernet 300 Mbps | Rs 16,248 | Tax not stated |
| DishHome Fibernet 350 Mbps | Rs 17,150 | Tax not stated |
| Subisu 200 Mbps | Rs 16,830 | 3 months Rs 4,800, 6 months Rs 9,405 |
| Subisu 450 Mbps | Rs 21,420 | |
| Subisu 650 Mbps | Rs 24,480 | |
| CG Net 200 Mbps | Rs 17,330 | Rs 20,590 for a new connection |
| CG Net 444 Mbps | Rs 18,860 | Rs 22,120 for a new connection |
| CG Net 666 Mbps | Rs 20,500 | Rs 23,760 for a new connection |
CG Net includes a Wi-Fi 6 router with every plan; its new-connection prices include the Rs 3,000 installation charge and a refundable deposit. Subisu lists a wire charge of Rs 1,130, an ONU activation charge of Rs 1,130 on yearly plans and a Rs 1,000 refundable ONU deposit (Nepali Telecom, 18 October 2026).
VAT and TSC on internet bills
Two taxes apply to internet in Nepal: a 10% telecommunication service charge (TSC) and 13% VAT, which is charged on the price plus TSC. Together they add about 24% to the price before tax. That’s why the same plan can look cheaper on one site than another: WorldLink shows TSC included and VAT extra, Vianet and Subisu show VAT included, CG Net includes both, and NTA’s approved tariff list shows prices before any tax.
Which internet plan should you choose?
- Check who covers your street first. WorldLink says it reaches 75 districts; smaller ISPs may only cover parts of a town. Most ISP websites have a coverage checker.
- 200 Mbps is enough for most homes. It’s now the entry plan at private ISPs, so you rarely need to pay more unless many people stream or download at once.
- If you only need 30 to 150 Mbps, Nepal Telecom is cheaper, but watch the daily data limits.
- Pay for a year if you can. At WorldLink, four 3-month payments of Rs 4,248 come to Rs 16,992, against Rs 14,894 for 12 months.
- Add up the one-time charges. They range from nothing during NT’s festival offer to about Rs 6,000 for a new WorldLink connection.
- Know the speed rule. NTA requires ISPs to deliver at least 25% of the advertised speed at peak hours (Nepali Telecom, 2023). If you get less, complain to the ISP and then to NTA.
If Wi-Fi is weak in some rooms, a better router or a mesh system helps more than a faster plan. Our guide Which WiFi router should you buy? explains Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi 6 and mesh. For internet on the move, see pocket WiFi and the NTC and Ncell data packs.
Keep your Wi-Fi on during power cuts
A fibre connection only works while your ONU and router have power. A mini DC router UPS keeps them running during a power cut. Our website prices on 30 October 2026:
