The new Mac mini with M6 and M5 Pro
Apple announced a new Mac mini on 25 August 2026 and started selling it on 22 September 2026. It keeps the same size and comes with two chips:
- M6: 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU, 16GB memory (up to 32GB), three Thunderbolt 4 ports. US price from $899.

Both add Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and 2.5Gb Ethernet. The new model isn’t on our website yet; ask us about availability. The M4 is still a fast Mac for everyday work, study and photo editing.
What else you need with a Mac mini
The Mac mini comes on its own, so budget for:
- A monitor. Any monitor with HDMI works; USB-C monitors connect through Thunderbolt. See how to choose a monitor.
- A keyboard and mouse. Bluetooth models connect without an adapter. See our keyboard and mouse guides.
- A USB-C hub if you use USB-A devices.
- A UPS if your area has power cuts, so you don’t lose unsaved work.

Choose a Windows PC if you play games, need Windows-only software (for example some accounting or engineering programs), or want to add memory, storage or a graphics card later. An all-in-one like the Lenovo IdeaCentre also saves you buying a separate monitor.
