One thing to know before you compare. Our ViewSonic listing calls it a 2K webcam, but the spec sheet on the same page is ViewSonic's VB-CAM-002, a 1080p camera with a 2.07MP sensor. Treat it as 1080p. We think it's still the best value here, because of the wide 90-degree lens and two mics.

720p vs 1080p vs 2K: what you see on Zoom
Resolution matters less than the box suggests. Zoom's own help page says that with HD video turned on, you can use 720p or 1080p, depending on your Zoom plan (Zoom support).
- 720p: fine for a class or a quick call on a laptop screen. This is what the Logitech C270 gives you.
- 1080p: sharper, and what most people should buy. On Zoom plans that support 1080p, you'll use all of it.
- 2K (1440p): useful when you record or stream, for example YouTube videos or OBS. On a normal Zoom call, the HD setting tops out at 1080p, so the extra detail isn't sent.
Your internet matters as much as the camera. Zoom says HD video uses about 2 Mbps up and down, plus more processing power. If your video freezes, check your upload speed first; our internet price list for WorldLink, Vianet and NT compares plans.
Do you need a webcam if your laptop has one?
A desktop tower has no built-in camera, so for a desktop the answer is yes. For a laptop, check its spec sheet. If the built-in camera is listed as 720p or "HD", a 1080p webcam is a clear step up.
The other reason is angle. A laptop camera looks up at you from the desk. A webcam on top of a monitor sits at eye level, and that looks better on every call. If you use a laptop on its own, a laptop stand raises the built-in camera too.

How to choose a webcam
- Resolution and frame rate: 1080p at 30 fps is the sensible standard. The C30's 2K runs at 25 fps.
- Field of view: 55 to 58 degrees (C270, Brio 100) frames one person. 90 degrees (ViewSonic) or 106 degrees (C30) fits two or three people, or a whiteboard behind you.
- Microphone: built-in mics are fine for calls. Logitech says the C270's mono mic picks up your voice up to 1.5 m away. For recording videos, a separate microphone sounds far better; see our BOYA, DJI and Fantech mic guide.
- Autofocus or fixed focus: the C270 and Brio 100 are fixed focus. That is fine at arm's length, but notes or products held close to the lens will look soft. The Rapoo C1620 has autofocus.
- Light: a dim room makes any webcam look worse. The Brio 100's RightLight auto light balance brightens faces by up to 50% compared with the C270, according to Logitech's own testing (Logitech).
- Privacy: the Brio 100 has a built-in shutter and the ViewSonic a sliding cover; the C30 comes with a lens cover.
- Compatibility: all of them plug in over USB. Our listings show Windows 10 or later, macOS 10.15 or later and ChromeOS for the Brio 100, and Windows, macOS, Linux and Android for the ViewSonic.
Which webcam should you buy?
By budget
- Around Rs 4,500: the ViewSonic VB-CAM-002 (C910) at Rs 4,500, for most people. Pick the Logitech C270 (Rs 4,400) only if 720p is enough and you want the Logitech name.
- Around Rs 4,500, for recording: the Fantech Luminous C30 (Rs 4,450), for 2K video and a 106-degree view.
- Around Rs 7,000: the Logitech Brio 100 (Rs 7,199), for better light handling and a privacy shutter.
- Meeting rooms: the Rapoo C1620 (Rs 77,200), with 20x optical zoom for a whole table.
By use
- Online classes and Zoom: the ViewSonic VB-CAM-002 (C910). Students get 1080p and dual mics for about the price of a 720p Logitech.
- Teachers and office calls: the Brio 100, whose RightLight made faces up to 50% brighter than the C270 in Logitech's own tests.
- Content creators and streamers: the Fantech C30 with a USB mic such as the Fantech Leviosa Aura MCX04 (Rs 4,900).
- Your room, with the family on one call: the ViewSonic or C30, for the wider view.
- Travel with a laptop: the Brio 100 weighs 75 g, according to our listing. Pair it with a headset; our headphones guide has options.
Quick verdict: buy the ViewSonic VB-CAM-002 (C910, Rs 4,500) for classes and calls, the Fantech Luminous C30 (Rs 4,450) if you record or stream, and the Logitech Brio 100 (Rs 7,199) if you work on video calls every day.

Frequently asked questions
What is the webcam price in Nepal?
At Quality Computer, webcams cost Rs 4,400 to Rs 7,199 as of 7 November 2026: the Logitech C270 (720p), Fantech Luminous C30 (2K), ViewSonic VB-CAM-002 (C910, 1080p) and Logitech Brio 100 (1080p). The Rapoo C1620 conference camera is Rs 77,200.
Is a 1080p webcam good enough for Zoom?
Yes. Zoom says its HD video setting uses 720p or 1080p depending on your Zoom plan, so a 1080p webcam covers it. A 2K webcam helps when you record or stream, not on a normal Zoom call.
Which webcam is best for online classes?
The ViewSonic VB-CAM-002 (C910) at Rs 4,500: 1080p, a 90-degree view and dual mics. If you prefer Logitech, the Brio 100 (Rs 7,199) adds auto light balance and a privacy shutter.
Do webcams have a microphone?
All four of our desktop webcams have built-in mics: a mono mic on the Logitech C270, dual mics on the ViewSonic VB-CAM-002 (C910), and built-in mics on the Fantech C30 and Logitech Brio 100. For recording videos, a separate mic sounds better.
Do these webcams work with a Mac?
The Logitech Brio 100 supports macOS 10.15 or later, and our ViewSonic listing shows macOS, Windows, Linux and Android. All of them connect over USB.
