Between the two ultra-mini kits, the mini 2-02 is the better buy at our prices. It costs Rs 600 less than the mini-14 and records at 24-bit, where BOYA lists the mini range at 16-bit.

Which type of mic do you need?
Choose the type first, then the brand. Each one suits a different job:
- Wireless clip-on (2.4 GHz): a small transmitter clips to your collar and a receiver plugs into your phone. Best for reels, vlogs and interviews. From Rs 3,150 here.
- Wired lavalier (pin mic): the mic runs on a cable to your phone or camera. Nothing to pair, but the cable limits how far you can move. From Rs 1,650.
- Desk mic (condenser or gaming): sits on a stand and connects to a laptop or PC. Best for podcasts, streaming, gaming and voice-overs. Rs 2,300 to Rs 4,950.
- Gooseneck: a desk mic on a bendable arm, for classes, meetings and Zoom. The UKC MX-418 Pro is Rs 2,500.
- Handheld with speaker: the Joyroom handheld mic (Rs 2,500) has its own speaker, which makes it a karaoke and party mic rather than a recording mic.
Why bother with a mic at all? A phone's built-in mic is at arm's length or more. A clip-on mic sits close to your mouth, so your voice comes through louder than traffic, fans and room echo.
Will a wireless mic work with my phone? USB-C vs Lightning
The receiver must match your phone's port. Apple says iPhone 15 and later models have a USB-C connector, and it lists microphones among the USB-C devices you can connect. So USB-C kits such as the BOYA mini 2-02 and BY-V20 suit a new iPhone as well as Android phones with USB-C.
Older iPhones (iPhone 14 and earlier) have a Lightning port. For those, buy a Lightning kit: the Fantech WMV11L (one mic, Rs 3,400) or WMV21L (two mics, Rs 4,500). The DJI Mic 2 kit comes with both a USB-C and a Lightning phone adapter, so it covers either phone.
Check charging too. BOYA says the mini 2 receiver can't charge your phone while it's plugged in, but its BY-V spec table lists charging while recording. On the DJI Mic 2, you can charge the phone and receiver together through the receiver's USB-C port.
That matters for a two-hour TikTok or Facebook live. Upgrading your phone as well? See our iPhone price in Nepal guide.
Range, battery and noise cancellation compared
These are the makers' own figures. BOYA and DJI measure range in clear, open conditions, so walls, crowds and your own body will cut it. Treat every number as a best case.
| Wireless mic | Mics in kit | Rated range | Battery per mic | Noise reduction | Our price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fantech Leviosa Air (WMV11 / WMV21) | 1 or 2 | 10 m | Up to 8 h; charging case | Noise reduction (no levels listed) | Rs 3,150 to Rs 4,500 |
| BOYA BY-V20 | 2 | 100 m, line of sight | Up to 9 h; no charging case | One-click on/off | Rs 4,450 |
| BOYA mini 2-02 | 2 | 100 m in open space | Up to 6 h; 30 h with the charging case | Strong (up to 40 dB) or light (up to 15 dB) | Rs 5,300 |
| BOYA mini-14 | 2 | 100 m in clear conditions | Up to 6 h; 30 h with the charging case | 3 levels | Rs 5,900 |
| DJI Mic 2 | 2 | 250 m (FCC), 160 m (CE) | 6 h; 18 h with the charging case | Intelligent noise cancelling | Rs 58,000 |
Specs from the BOYA BY-V, BOYA mini 2, BOYA mini, Fantech Leviosa Air and DJI Mic 2 pages; BOYA's figures cover each whole range. BOYA rates the current BY-V20 (V2.0) at 100 m line of sight and up to 9 h per mic; older V1.0 units have a shorter range. Prices checked on 3 November 2026.
The big gap is range. Fantech rates the Leviosa Air at 10 m: enough for a phone on a tripod in front of you, too short for a wide shot across a hall or a field. BOYA rates all three of its kits at 100 m (the BY-V20 in its current V2.0 version).
BOYA claims up to 40 dB of noise reduction in the mini 2's strong mode. Use strong mode for traffic and crowds, and light mode or off in a quiet room, because heavy noise reduction can make a voice sound thin and processed.
On long event days, the charging case matters more than the mic's own hours. The BY-V20 has no case, so once its 9 hours run out you need a charger or power bank. BOYA sells the mini 2-02 with a charging case, but some other mini 2 kits (such as the mini 2-04) come without one.
Best mic for YouTube in Nepal: reels, vlogging and interviews
Phone video, reels and TikTok
Buy the BOYA mini 2-02 (Rs 5,300). Its 5 g transmitters barely show on a T-shirt, it records at 48 kHz/24-bit, and with two mics in the kit you can add a guest later.
On a tight budget, the Fantech Leviosa Air WMV11C (Rs 3,150) does the job when you film yourself within a few metres of the phone. Skip it if someone films you from across a room.
Vlogging outdoors and on the move
Get the BOYA BY-V20 (Rs 4,450) if battery life matters most: BOYA rates each mic of the current V2.0 at up to 9 hours. Get the mini 2-02 instead if you want the smaller mic and adjustable noise reduction (BOYA lists up to 40 dB in strong mode) for busy roads.
Filming on a camera rather than a phone? The DJI Mic 2 kit includes a 3.5mm camera cable. Our camera price in Nepal and action camera price in Nepal guides cover the cameras themselves.
Interviews and two-person videos
Any dual kit works: the BY-V20, mini 2-02, mini-14, Fantech WMV21C (Rs 3,600) or DJI Mic 2. If you'll edit the audio later, choose the mini 2-02: BOYA lists mono, stereo and safety-track output modes, while the BY-V is mono only.
For seated interviews at a table, the BOYA BY-M1DM (Rs 2,490) gives you two omni-directional lavalier mics for less than any wireless pair, with no wireless receiver to pair or charge.
Best mic for podcasts, streaming, gaming and online classes
At a desk you don't need wireless. A desk mic stays put, connects to your laptop or PC, and is easier to keep at the same distance from your mouth.
| Model | What it is | Our price | Availability |
|---|---|---|---|
| FANTECH LEVIOSA AURA MCX04 USB Condenser Microphone | USB-C condenser, cardioid, 48 kHz/24-bit | Rs 4,900 | Available |
| Fantech MCX01 Leviosa Professional Condenser Microphone | Desk condenser mic | Rs 4,950 | Call to order |
| Redragon Seyfert GM100 Gaming Microphone | Gaming desk mic | Rs 3,050 | Call to order |
| Havit GAMENOTE GK51 RGB Recording Live Microphone | RGB desk mic for recording and live streams | Rs 2,300 | Available |
| UKC MX-418 Pro Gooseneck Microphone | Gooseneck desk mic | Rs 2,500 | Call to order |
| Joyroom Handheld Microphone with Speaker | Handheld mic with built-in speaker | Rs 2,500 | Available |
Prices checked on 3 November 2026.
Podcasts and streaming
Buy the Fantech Leviosa Aura MCX04 (Rs 4,900). Fantech lists a cardioid pattern, 48 kHz/24-bit recording, USB-C, a one-touch mute button and a monitor port for real-time feedback.
Cardioid means it mainly hears what's in front of it, so less of the room and the ceiling fan gets in. Pair it with closed headphones from our headphones price in Nepal guide so the mic doesn't pick up your monitor sound.
Recording two people on one laptop? The BY-M1DM or a dual wireless kit is simpler than running two USB mics.

Gaming
For Discord and in-game chat, the Havit GAMENOTE GK51 (Rs 2,300) is the cheapest desk mic in this list and adds RGB lighting. The Redragon Seyfert GM100 (Rs 3,050) is the other gaming pick.
If you also stream, the MCX04 costs Rs 2,600 more and gives you 24-bit recording, a one-button mute and a monitor port with mix control. Building a new rig? See our gaming PC build guide.
Online classes, Zoom and meetings
A gooseneck like the UKC MX-418 Pro (Rs 2,500) stands on the desk and bends towards your mouth. Teachers who walk while they teach can clip on the BOYA BY-M1 (Rs 1,650) and its 6 m cable.
For the rest of your desk setup, see our home office setup guide.
Pin mic price in Nepal: is a wired lavalier still worth it?
Yes, if you sit still. The BOYA BY-M1 at Rs 1,650 is the cheapest mic here. BOYA lists it as an omnidirectional condenser mic with a 6 m cable and a 3.5mm plug, powered by an LR44 button cell that comes in the box.
The catch is the plug. If your phone has no headphone jack, you need a USB-C or Lightning to 3.5mm TRRS adapter; BOYA lists both (the BY-K9 and BY-K3).
The BY-M2 (Rs 4,490) is BOYA's digital clip-on mic with a Lightning plug, so it fits an iPhone 14 or older but not a USB-C phone. At that price the two-mic BY-V20 wireless kit costs Rs 40 less, so pick the BY-M2 only if you want a wired mic for a Lightning iPhone.
The verdict: a wired pin mic is right for seated classes, voice-overs and table interviews. Go wireless for anything where you move.
DJI Mic 2 price in Nepal: is it worth Rs 58,000?
For phone reels, no: it costs about 11 times as much as a BOYA mini 2-02. For paid shoots, weddings and camera work, it can be.
According to DJI, you get a 250 m range (FCC; 160 m under CE), 6 hours per transmitter and 18 hours in total with the charging case. Each transmitter also has 8GB of storage that records up to 14 hours of 24-bit audio, and it can record in 32-bit float.
That internal recording is the main reason to pay more. If the wireless signal drops, the take is still saved on the transmitter.
DJI's 2 TX + 1 RX + Charging Case kit includes two transmitters, the receiver, the case, USB-C and Lightning phone adapters and a 3.5mm camera cable. The transmitters can also pair straight to a phone over Bluetooth, one at a time, but DJI says noise cancelling and internal recording don't work that way.
At this price, EMI helps. QC EMI needs a 20% down payment (Rs 11,600 on this kit) and charges 10% interest, through Nabil Bank or Machhapuchchhre Bank credit cards. See our EMI page for details.
Quick verdict: which mic to buy
- Phone reels and TikTok: BOYA mini 2-02 (Rs 5,300). On a budget, the Fantech WMV11C (Rs 3,150).
- Long vlogs and live streams: BOYA BY-V20 (Rs 4,450), rated at up to 9 hours per mic (V2.0).
- iPhone 14 or older: Fantech WMV11L (Rs 3,400) or WMV21L (Rs 4,500), both Lightning.
- Two-person interviews: BOYA mini 2-02 or BY-V20. For seated ones, the wired BY-M1DM (Rs 2,490).

- Gaming chat: Havit GAMENOTE GK51 (Rs 2,300).
- Classes and Zoom: UKC MX-418 Pro gooseneck (Rs 2,500) or BOYA BY-M1 (Rs 1,650).

Frequently asked questions
What is the Boya mic price in Nepal?
At Quality Computer, BOYA mics cost from Rs 1,650 for the wired BY-M1 to Rs 5,900 for the BOYA mini-14 wireless kit. The two-mic BY-V20 is Rs 4,450 and the BOYA mini 2-02 is Rs 5,300 (prices checked on 3 November 2026).
Which wireless mic is best for a mobile phone?
For phone video, our pick is the BOYA mini 2-02 (Rs 5,300): two 5 g mics, a 100 m rated range and two noise-reduction strengths. On a budget, the Fantech Leviosa Air WMV11C costs Rs 3,150, but Fantech rates it for only 10 m.
Does a Boya wireless mic work with an iPhone?
Yes, if the receiver matches the port. iPhone 15 and later models have USB-C, so USB-C kits like the BY-V20 and mini 2-02 fit. An iPhone 14 or older has Lightning, so choose a Lightning kit such as the Fantech WMV11L or WMV21L.
What is the range of a Boya wireless mic?
BOYA rates the mini and mini 2 kits at up to 100 m in clear, open conditions. BOYA rates the current BY-V20 (V2.0) at 100 m line of sight and up to 9 h per mic; older V1.0 units have a shorter range. Walls, crowds and bodies shorten these figures, so keep the receiver in sight of the mic.
Is the DJI Mic 2 worth it over a BOYA?
Only if you need what it adds: a 250 m range (FCC), 8GB of backup recording in each transmitter, 32-bit float recording and a 3.5mm camera cable in the kit. For phone reels, a BOYA kit at about a tenth of the price is enough.
Which mic is best for podcasts and streaming on a PC?
A USB desk mic. The Fantech Leviosa Aura MCX04 (Rs 4,900) has a cardioid pattern, 48 kHz/24-bit recording, a mute button and a monitor port. For gaming chat only, the Havit GAMENOTE GK51 costs Rs 2,300.
