Ncell and NTC Recharge (2026): Recharge Codes, Online Top-Up, Balance Check, Validity and Loan
Updated 29 October 2026. Codes and rules are from Ncell’s and Nepal Telecom’s own pages where we could reach them, and from Nepali Telecom (nepalitelecom.com) for Nepal Telecom details. Operators change codes and validity rules, so check your operator’s app if a code doesn’t work.
Short answer: To recharge with a card, dial *122*PIN# on Ncell or *412*PIN# on Nepal Telecom (NTC). To top up online, use the Ncell App, the NT App, or eSewa, Khalti or your bank’s app; the minimum online recharge is Rs 50 on Ncell and Rs 20 on NTC. Check balance with *901# (Ncell) or *400# (NTC). Out of balance? Ncell’s Saapati is on *9988# and NTC’s Namaste Credit on *1477#.

A scratch card PIN has 16 digits. If an NTC card is damaged, you can recover the PIN at pinrecovery.ntc.net.np as long as 6 digits are readable; after 5 failed tries you have to visit an NTC counter.
How to recharge online
- Ncell App: pay with a linked payment method, type the 16-digit PIN, or scan the card with your camera. Ncell’s recharge portal also takes debit and credit cards and e-wallets.
- NT App or NTC Self Care: redeem a PIN, or pay through Namaste Pay, Khalti or eSewa. NTC’s card portal (cardpay.ntc.net.np) takes Visa, Mastercard and UnionPay through a Nabil Bank payment page.
- eSewa, Khalti or your bank app: open Topup, enter the number and amount, and confirm with your MPIN.
The minimum online recharge is Rs 50 on Ncell and Rs 20 on NTC (raised from Rs 10 in August 2025). Ncell says you get 100% of the recharge value as main balance.

Recharge validity
Your balance stays valid for a set time after each recharge. Once it runs out, outgoing calls stop first and later all services stop.

Ncell’s validity for in-between amounts follows its bands: Rs 300 to 499 gives 200 days. Validity can stack up to 730 days, but several small Rs 50 recharges don’t add up: each one gives 30 days from that recharge. In January 2025 Ncell briefly cut validity to 7 and 14 days for small recharges, then went back to 30 and 60 days after complaints.

Sources disagree on some Saapati details: another report gives Rs 50 for one day, so check the menu when you dial.
Taxes and postpaid bills
Nepal adds a 13% Telecommunications Service Charge and 13% VAT to telecom services, which is why Ncell quotes call rates both without tax and with tax. Ncell postpaid (Ncell Pro) bills can be paid at Ncell Centres, at several banks or through eSewa and Khalti; bills are issued on the 1st of the Nepali month and are due by the 24th. NTC postpaid bills can be paid online at gsmbl.ntc.net.np.
