Hikvision bullet camera buying guide: Turbo HD or IP, night range and lens
Bullet cameras go on outside walls and point at a gate, yard or road. Choosing one comes down to the recorder it works with, how far it has to see at night, and the lens. For the basics, see the Hikvision camera buying guide on Hikvision camera price in Nepal.
1. Turbo HD or IP bullet
The DS-2CE models, like the DS-2CE16D0T-ITPFS (2MP) and the DS-2CE16H0T-ITPFS (5MP), are Turbo HD and connect by coax to a DVR. The DS-2CD models, like the DS-2CD1023G0E-I (2MP) and the DS-2CD1043G2-I (4MP), are IP cameras for an NVR or PoE switch.
The 8MP (4K) bullet here, the DS-2CE16U1T-ITPF, is Turbo HD, not IP, so it needs a DVR that records 8MP. If you're after an 8MP IP bullet, call us.
2. How far it has to see at night
Measure from the wall to the far side of what you want to see, then compare that with the infrared range. By Hikvision's figures, its 2MP Turbo HD mini bullet sees up to 25 m with infrared (Hikvision) and the DS-2CD1023G0E-I up to 30 m (Hikvision). That covers most gates and yards.
For colour at night the camera needs a white light, and the same measuring applies. Hikvision's ColorVu DS-2CE10DFT-F lights up to 20 m in colour (Hikvision). Among the bullets here, the DS-2CD1023G2-LIU has Smart Hybrid Light, rated up to 30 m for both infrared and white light (Hikvision), and the DS-2CE10DFT-PFC is a full-time colour model according to its product page. Check the white light range of the one you pick against your distance.
3. Pick the lens for the distance, and mount it well
On Hikvision's 2MP Turbo HD mini bullet, the 2.8 mm lens covers 101° across, the 3.6 mm 79.6° and the 6 mm 51.9° (Hikvision). The 2.8 mm suits a gate or yard close to the wall. The 6 mm shows less width but more detail further away, for a long driveway or a lane. Ask us which lens a model comes with.
Mount the bullet high enough that nobody can reach it from the ground, and angle it so the sky isn't in the picture, because a bright sky makes faces come out dark.

Hikvision bullet camera FAQ
Are Hikvision bullet cameras waterproof?
The outdoor models are sealed against weather. The DS-2CD1023G0E-I and Hikvision's 2MP Turbo HD mini bullet both carry IP67, so dust can't get in and a brief soaking won't hurt them. Check the rating on the spec sheet of the model you choose.
How far can a Hikvision bullet camera see at night?
With infrared, Hikvision gives up to 25 m for its 2MP Turbo HD mini bullet and up to 30 m for the DS-2CD1023G0E-I, both in black and white. In colour it depends on the white light: Hikvision gives up to 20 m for its ColorVu DS-2CE10DFT-F and up to 30 m for the Smart Hybrid Light on the DS-2CD1023G2-LIU.
Is the Hikvision 8MP 4K bullet an IP camera?
No. The DS-2CE16U1T-ITPF is a Turbo HD camera, so it connects to a DVR by coax, and the DVR has to support 8MP. The IP bullets on this page are 2MP and 4MP.
Do you deliver Hikvision bullet cameras outside Birtamode?
Yes. We usually deliver all over Nepal in 2 to 5 days, and delivery is free within 15 km on products over Rs 5,000.
