How to apply for the free AI training
- Open the AI with Effective Prompt Engineering form on the government's Shramsansar portal.
- Fill in your name, mobile number, age, gender and occupation. Email, NID or citizenship number and qualification aren't marked as required.
- Pick a day (Wednesday or Thursday) and a time (morning, 10 am to 12 pm, or evening, 6 pm to 8 pm).
- Submit once. If you already applied on the first form, the academy says you don't need to apply again.
- Watch for an SMS. Selected participants will be told by SMS, so give a number you check.
When does the form close?
The form itself shows no deadline. According to Bajar Ko Chirfar, applications close at 3 pm on Tuesday 3 November (Kartik 17), so apply as early as you can.
What does the AI prompt engineering training cover?
According to the academy, as reported by Nagarik and Onlinekhabar, the course covers:
- Using AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude effectively
- Writing clear, useful prompts
- Drafting emails, notes, meeting minutes and presentations with AI
- Making images and short videos
- Using AI responsibly
- Checking whether AI-generated information is accurate
Pay most attention to the last point. AI tools can state wrong facts with confidence, and the habit of checking an answer against a real source is worth more than any prompt trick.

Why did the first AI training form stop working?
Applications first opened on a Google Form. More than 42,000 people applied within 24 hours, and the rush caused technical problems that temporarily blocked access to the form, Onlinekhabar reported.
Applications then moved to the government's own Shramsansar portal. The academy says details already submitted are stored safely and will be used only for the training.
What do you need to join the online AI class?
You don't need a new laptop for a two-hour class. The organisers haven't said publicly which video platform they'll use, so watch for the academy's SMS and any joining instructions it sends. These help:
- A laptop, if you have one. A phone works, but a bigger screen lets you watch the trainer and try prompts side by side.
- Earphones with a mic, so you hear clearly and can ask questions.
- A steady connection. Home Wi-Fi is the safer bet for two hours of video. On mobile data, check our NTC data pack guide first, and if your home internet struggles in the evening, our internet price in Nepal comparison shows what each ISP charges.
- A free AI account set up before class, so you can practise straight away.
- A full battery, or a charger nearby. Two hours of video drains a phone fast.
Will there be more free AI training in Nepal?
The ministry says it plans to. Minister for Youth, Labour and Employment Ramji Yadav said "knowledge and skills related to AI should not remain limited to a small group of people", and the government plans larger, more advanced online and in-person training, Onlinekhabar reported. No dates or seat numbers have been announced.
