BYD car price in Nepal: full list (November 2026)

Cimex announced new Atto 1 and Atto 3 prices and a cheaper Atto 2 Essential at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo in Kathmandu in August 2026, then launched an Atto 2 Superior and an updated Sealion 7 at the NADA Auto Show later that month. Here is every BYD price in Nepal we could confirm, with the date it was reported.

*BYD Nepal's Atto 1 page quotes only the Premium's 300 km (WLTP). EV News Nepal lists the Dynamic's 230 km as WLTP, but we couldn't confirm that on a BYD page, so treat it as approximate.

**Rs 58.90 lakh was confirmed in April 2026, before the new EV tax. EV News Nepal still listed it at that price in October 2026, but we couldn't find a new announcement from Cimex since the budget.

Every range figure here is BYD's claim from a lab test cycle. Plan on less on hill roads, at highway speed or with the AC on full.

BYD prices in Nepal now run from Rs 30.75 lakh to Rs 92.99 lakh.

BYD Atto 1 price in Nepal

The Atto 1 is BYD's smallest and cheapest car here, a city hatchback with a 45 kW motor in both versions. The update shown in August 2026 added a 360-degree camera and, on the Premium at least, auto-folding side mirrors.

  • Dynamic, Rs 30.75 lakh: 30.08 kWh battery and 230 km of claimed range. That's Rs 1 lakh more than its April price of Rs 29.75 lakh.
  • Premium, Rs 34.80 lakh: 38.88 kWh battery and 300 km of claimed range (WLTP).

Verdict: buy the Premium. The extra Rs 4.05 lakh gets you a bigger battery and 70 km more claimed range, which you'll want the first time you drive between cities. The Dynamic suits short town trips with charging at home every night.

BYD Atto 2 price in Nepal: Essential, Premium or Superior?

The Atto 2 SUV has been BYD's big hit since it arrived in August 2025. By 15 August 2026, 2,475 had been imported, beating the Atto 3's 2024 record of 2,068 in a year, according to Meroauto. It now comes in three versions, all with a 100 kW front motor.

  • Essential, Rs 45.95 lakh: 45.12 kWh battery and 312 km of claimed range (WLTP). New at the August 2026 expo.
  • Premium, Rs 48.99 lakh: 51.13 kWh battery and 345 km claimed (WLTP).
  • Superior, Rs 51.99 lakh: the same 51.13 kWh battery and 345 km, plus a sunroof.

Verdict: the Premium is the sweet spot. It costs Rs 3.04 lakh more than the Essential and adds 33 km of claimed range. The Superior asks another Rs 3 lakh; it's mechanically the same as the Premium, and the main addition reported is a sunroof. Pick the Essential only if Rs 46 lakh is a hard ceiling and you rarely leave town.

BYD Atto 3 price in Nepal (2026 model)

The Atto 3 held BYD's import record in Nepal until the Atto 2 came along, and the 2026 model went on sale at the August expo. Both versions use a 100 kW front motor with 310 Nm, and BYD claims 0 to 100 km/h in 10.1 seconds.

  • Advanced, Rs 62.90 lakh: 49.92 kWh battery and 345 km of claimed range (WLTP).
  • Superior, Rs 78 lakh: 60.48 kWh battery and 420 km claimed (WLTP).

BYD claims a DC fast charge from 0 to 80% takes about 50 minutes. The Advanced has climbed this year, from Rs 59.99 lakh in April to Rs 61.99 lakh after the budget in June, and now Rs 62.90 lakh for the 2026 model.

Verdict: if you want an Atto 3, stretch to the Superior. The Advanced claims the same 345 km as an Atto 2 Premium that costs Rs 13.91 lakh less. The Superior's extra 75 km is what makes the Atto 3 worth it for regular highway trips.

BYD Sealion 7 price in Nepal: why it now costs Rs 92.99 lakh

The Sealion 7 is the most expensive BYD with a confirmed 2026 price in Nepal. In August 2026 the 100 kW rear motor was replaced with a 170 kW one (380 Nm), and the price rose from Rs 79.85 lakh to Rs 92.99 lakh.

The 71.8 kWh battery and the 440 km claimed WLTP range are unchanged. Reports gave no reason for the increase beyond the bigger motor, but it came after the budget switched EV tax to the car's value (explained below).

Verdict: buy it if you want the most powerful BYD with a confirmed price here. If range is what you're after, the M6 claims the same 440 km from the same size battery; get a current quote for it first.

BYD M6, Dolphin and Seal: what we could confirm

BYD Nepal's website still lists the M6 and the Dolphin. EV News Nepal's model pages still show the M6 at Rs 58.90 lakh and the Dolphin at Rs 41.15 lakh, but we couldn't find a Cimex price announcement for either since the budget changed EV tax. Ask Cimex for a written quote.

  • M6: seven seats, 71.8 kWh battery, 440 km claimed (WLTP) and a 100 kW motor. It was Rs 58.90 lakh as of 10 April 2026, the same as in August 2025.
  • Dolphin: 44.9 kWh battery, 340 km claimed (WLTP), a 70 kW motor, 7 kW AC and up to 60 kW DC charging. Reports give Rs 41.15 lakh or Rs 41.45 lakh, and neither is confirmed for after the budget.
  • Seal: no longer on BYD Nepal's website. Its last reported prices, listed by Meroauto in August 2025, were Rs 1.10 crore (Dynamic), Rs 1.455 crore (Premium) and Rs 1.95 crore (Performance).

Which BYD should you buy?

The BYD price in Nepal spans more than Rs 62 lakh from cheapest to dearest, so match the car to how you actually drive, not to the biggest range figure you can afford.

  • City commuting: Atto 1 Premium (Rs 34.80 lakh), the cheapest BYD with 300 km claimed.
  • First family car: Atto 2 Premium (Rs 48.99 lakh), our pick for space and range at a mid-range price.
  • Regular long trips: Atto 3 Superior (Rs 78 lakh), 420 km claimed.
  • Seven seats: the M6, if today's quote is close to its last confirmed Rs 58.90 lakh.
  • Most power: Sealion 7 (Rs 92.99 lakh), 170 kW.
  • Under Rs 30 lakh: no BYD fits yet. An electric scooter is the cheaper way into EVs; see our electric scooter price list for Nepal.

Why did BYD prices go up in 2026?

Prices crept up early in the year: February's rise was linked to new 2026 model-year stock, and April's to exchange rates. The bigger change came with the FY 2083/84 budget at the end of May, which moved EV tax from motor power (kW) to the car's customs value.

Excise duty on EVs was scrapped and replaced by a Clean Infrastructure Investment Fee (CIIF) that climbs steeply with value, as reported by The Kathmandu Post:

Customs value of the EVClean Infrastructure Investment Fee
Up to Rs 20 lakh2.5%
Rs 20 lakh to Rs 30 lakh20%
Rs 30 lakh to Rs 40 lakh35%
Rs 40 lakh to Rs 50 lakh90%
Above Rs 50 lakh130%

On top of that come 20% customs duty, a road construction fee (2.5% for EVs with a customs value up to Rs 20 lakh and 5% above that) and 13% VAT. Customs value is the import value, not the showroom price, so you can't work out a car's price from this table.

It does explain why the tax hits dearer EVs hardest. Meroauto lists the Atto 1 (which it calls the Atto 1 Standard) among EVs with a customs value under Rs 20 lakh, the lowest 2.5% band.

In June, following the budget's tax revision, Cimex raised the BYD price in Nepal for two models: the Atto 2 by about Rs 3 lakh to Rs 48.99 lakh, and the Atto 3 Advanced by Rs 2 lakh to Rs 61.99 lakh.

How do you charge a BYD in Nepal?

Every BYD above supports AC charging at home and DC fast charging on the road. Do your daily charging at home overnight and keep fast chargers for trips.

Charging at home

Get a licensed electrician to check your wiring and earthing, give the charger its own circuit, and ask NEA whether your connection needs a higher load. If the voltage in your area swings a lot, read our guide on protecting electronics from power surges and voltage fluctuations first.

Public fast chargers

The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) runs public chargers, and its NEA Charge app lets you book a charger and pay online. BYD showrooms and several other car brands also run chargers.

When we checked on 3 November 2026, EV News Nepal's charger map listed 529 stations in 171 cities, 11 of them in Birtamode. Speed depends on the car: BYD claims about 50 minutes from 0 to 80% for the Atto 3. On long trips, confirm a charger is working before you count on it.

BYD warranty and service centres in Nepal

Cimex's extended warranty, introduced in April 2025, covers the battery and motor for 10 years or 200,000 km, up from 8 years. Other parts have shorter cover:

  • Whole-vehicle items (lights, tyre pressure sensors, suspension, ball joints): 5 years or 125,000 km.
  • General parts: 7.5 years or 187,500 km. Consumables such as oils and refrigerants, and charging equipment, are excluded.

Cimex was still advertising a 10-year extended warranty at the August 2026 expo, but terms can change, so get yours in writing.

BYD has 14 service centres across six provinces, Meroauto reported in September 2026, from Biratnagar, Itahari and Birtamode in the east to Dhangadhi in the far west, plus Gaurighat and Kupondole in Kathmandu. It plans 17 by the end of 2026.

Where to buy a BYD in Nepal

Buy from Cimex Inc, BYD's authorised distributor, through its showrooms or authorised dealers. BYD's official Nepal website, byd.com/np, lists the current models. BYD passed 11,000 customers in Nepal in October 2026, Meroauto reported.

Be careful with social media "deals". In January 2026 Cimex warned, The Himalayan Times reported, that the website bydpromotionnepal.com, a Facebook page called BYD Dealler Fans and a Telegram group called BYD Promotion have nothing to do with BYD Nepal. Never pay a booking amount through a page you found on social media.

The BYD price in Nepal has changed several times this year, so ask the showroom for a written quote for the exact variant before you pay a deposit.

Key takeaways:

  • BYD price in Nepal: Rs 30.75 lakh (Atto 1 Dynamic) to Rs 92.99 lakh (Sealion 7), as announced in August 2026.
  • Our pick for most families: the Atto 2 Premium at Rs 48.99 lakh, with 345 km claimed.
  • EV tax now depends on customs value, and the new fee climbs steeply for dearer cars.
  • Battery and motor warranty: 10 years or 200,000 km. Get it in writing.
