Solar Panel Price in Nepal (2026): 200W Panel, Hybrid Inverters and What You Need
Updated 29 October 2026. Prices are Quality Computer’s website prices that day. Specs are from the makers’ details on our product listings.
Short answer: At Quality Computer, the Alpex 200W solar panel costs Rs 12,000. To run home appliances from it you also need a battery and an inverter: our Su-Kam solar hybrid inverters cost Rs 12,900 (1100VA, 12V) and Rs 18,500 (1600VA, 24V). Nepal gets an average of about 5 kWh of sunlight per square metre a day, according to AEPC, so a 200W panel can make up to about 1 kWh a day before losses.

How much power does a 200W solar panel make in Nepal?
The Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC) says Nepal has “over 300 days of sunshine annually” and an average solar insolation of 5 kWh per square metre per day. Panels are rated at 1,000 watts of sunlight per square metre, so that works out to about five hours of full sun a day. A 200W panel can therefore make up to about 1 kWh a day before losses. Real output is lower, and depends on the weather, shade and how the panel faces the sun.

What else you need for solar at home
A solar panel makes DC power. Small DC loads, like our 12V solar bulb, can run from a battery directly. To run normal household appliances you need an inverter. A solar hybrid inverter charges its battery from the panels as well as from the grid, and Su-Kam’s 1100VA model has the charge controller built in.

Solar in Nepal
Solar can matter most where the grid is weak. In November 2024 the Rising Nepal reported that in Halji, Humla, where the micro-hydro plant had broken down, 90 subsidised 100-watt panels were installed for 87 households, a monastery and two homes nearby, giving them 24-hour power. In June 2026 the Kathmandu Post reported low voltage and power cuts in Bardiya, where constant fluctuations had raised concerns over damage to fridges, water pumps and other equipment.
Frequently asked questions
What is the solar panel price in Nepal?
At Quality Computer on 29 October 2026, the Alpex 200W solar panel costs Rs 12,000.
How much electricity does a 200W solar panel make in Nepal?
Using AEPC’s average of about 5 kWh of sunlight per square metre a day, a 200W panel can make up to about 1 kWh a day before losses. Real output is lower.
Do I need an inverter with a solar panel?
To run normal household appliances, yes. Panels make DC power. Small 12V DC loads like a solar bulb can run from a battery without one.
What is a solar hybrid inverter?
An inverter that charges its battery from solar panels as well as the grid. Our Su-Kam hybrid inverters cost Rs 12,900 (1100VA, 12V) and Rs 18,500 (1600VA, 24V).
Which battery should I use with a solar inverter?
Su-Kam lists its 1100VA/12V hybrid inverter as suitable for 50Ah to 200Ah batteries. Ask us to match the battery to your inverter.
