Zebra ZD230TA questions
Do I need a ribbon?
Only for thermal transfer printing. On direct thermal labels, which are heat-sensitive, it prints without a ribbon. Zebra says not to load a ribbon when printing on direct thermal media.
Does it take non-Zebra ribbons?
Yes. Zebra's user guide says the printer ships with adapters for non-Zebra 300 m ribbons, and 74 m ribbons need no adapter. Zebra warns that media or ribbons not approved for the printer may damage it.
Can I connect it to a network?
No. It's USB only. Zebra offers a USB-to-serial option.
