Short answer: Samsung hasn't announced the Galaxy S27 Ultra yet. Korean media expect it in early 2027, and every main Galaxy S series since the S22 was unveiled between mid-January and late February. The S26 Ultra launched in Nepal at Rs 212,999 and is now listed at Rs 224,999, so we expect the S27 Ultra (12/256GB) to cost at least that much here, though Samsung hasn't announced a price.

When will the Galaxy S27 Ultra launch?

No date is set. Korea's Seoul Economic Daily reported in October that Samsung plans to unveil its top phone early next year, with mass production starting late this year (Seoul Economic Daily). Leaker Lanzuk says the launch could slip to February 2027 at the latest, with January preferred, and that Samsung has yet to set a date (9to5Google).

Samsung's own history narrows it down. Here is when each main Galaxy S series was unveiled and went on sale:

In Nepal, Samsung opened S26 pre-orders on 8 March 2026, 11 days after Unpacked (The Himalayan Times). So if the S27 is unveiled in January or February, Nepal pre-orders could open within about two weeks. That is our estimate, not a Samsung date.

Galaxy S27 Ultra expected price in Nepal

Start with what the S26 Ultra costs here. It launched at Rs 212,999 (12/256GB) in March 2026 (The Himalayan Times, ICT Frame). Nepali Telecom's price list (updated 1 November 2026) and Samsung Plaza's catalogue, as reported by Digital Solution Nepal, now show it at Rs 224,999.

Samsung's own statements and moves this year point to higher prices, not lower:

  • Memory costs: Samsung expects the memory chip shortage to get worse in 2027 (TechCrunch).
  • Samsung's co-CEO Roh Tae-moon, explaining foldable prices in July, said that once costs exceed what Samsung can absorb, part of the increase is reflected in launch prices, though the goal is not to pass the full burden on to buyers (Korea Times).
  • The S26 itself got dearer: on 1 October 2026 Samsung raised the US price of the S26 Ultra 256GB from $1,299 to $1,399 (9to5Google).

A Korean report (IT Chosun, via Tech Advisor) says Samsung is considering pricing its next line-up 100,000 to 130,000 won higher than it originally planned. Tech Advisor estimates the Ultra could land just under $1,500 in the US if Samsung repeats this year's $100 rise. None of this is confirmed.

Our estimate: the S27 Ultra 12/256GB is unlikely to launch in Nepal below the S26 Ultra's current Rs 224,999, and could cost more. We'll update this page the day Samsung Nepal announces the real price.

What we know about the Galaxy S27 series

Only one thing here comes from Samsung itself: System LSI president Park Yong-in said in June that the Exynos 2700 is being developed "aiming for application in top-tier smartphones" (SamMobile). The rest is reports and leaks:

  • Four models (report): Galaxy S27, S27+, a new S27 Pro and the S27 Ultra, according to a WinFuture report based on import and export data (9to5Google).
  • Chips (report): TheElec reports that the S27, S27+ and S27 Pro will use the Exynos 2700 in Korea and Europe, while the Ultra is expected to use a next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, though Samsung hasn't finalised the Ultra's chip (Android Headlines).
  • Camera (rumour): the Ultra may drop the 10MP 3x telephoto and keep the 5x, according to leaker Ice Universe (9to5Google).
  • Battery and charging (certification listing): the Ultra has been certified with a rated 5,534mAh battery and 60W wired charging (GSMArena). GSMArena expects about 5,700mAh typical, against 5,000mAh on the S26 Ultra.
  • S Pen (renders): CAD-based renders from OnLeaks and Android Headlines still show the built-in S Pen (9to5Google).

Should you wait for the Galaxy S27 Ultra?

Wait if your current phone still works. If Samsung keeps to its usual January–February timing, the S27 Ultra is two to four months away, and you'll know the real price before you commit.

Quick verdict: unless you need a phone this month, wait for Unpacked. Most signs point to a higher price for the S27 Ultra, so set your budget at Rs 225,000 or more for the 256GB model.
